Only if you have too!

I purchased my car through Franklin Park Lincoln Mercury(corner of Jackman & Sylvania) which would not tell me the loan price until after I signed the paperwork for the loan. Then on the 3rd day of having the car the check engine light came on and found out it was the EGR valve they promised they would have it fixed and here it's over 2 yrs later and I am having it fixed myself on my dollar not theres. I too have several issues regarding there box in my car that they say it is my battery and cables neither of them are bad or corroded (they're both brand new). I also have electrical probs in the car I purchased because it mysteriously has a BREATHALIZER hooked up and has a short in it. I was told by Northcoast (Jeremy) they will take it out for $80.00 hr. which I am not sure why I am responsible for there Screw up leaving it on the car in the first place when they sold it to me? I am an honest payer and have pd over my loan amt every week and have found out that I am barely any closer to paying my car off. I found out the overage I pay each week accumulates and does not go towards the principal on my loan. I have had the best customer service from CARRIE. As for needing an extension they only do that if you have an overage or at X-mas time and the reps are not allowed to advertise. So you must ask about options. My recommendations for a car loan is a Family member or get a second job it will be lot less hassel. I could tell you more stories about what I have been through but I will leave that up to my LAWYERS.
- Pros: Got a Car
- Cons: Get ripped off.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY
by winter09
THIS COMPANY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION. THEY SELL CARS THAT ARE READY TO FALL APART. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THEN SELL IT AT AN AUCTION FOR DIRT CHEAP AND YOU WILL STILL BE LIABLE FOR THE FULL AMOUNT PLUS 25% INTEREST!! THEY WILL COME AFTER YOU AND GARNISH YOUR WAGES AND TRY TO MAKE YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE!! STAY AWAY FROM NORTH COAST FINANCIAL SERVICES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ON A SCALE FROM 1-10 I WOULD RATE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AS A 2.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: EVERYTHING
i am having a good experience with them!
by bluemillionare
this is my last year to pay on my car and i have had nothing but support and courtesy from these people.! ~ this is my first message.! ~ now i know there pricey but you got to understand your a high risk person to give credit to in the first place.! ~ and if your not then you need to find other financing.! ~ i have lost my job more than ounce and every time i needed it with in moderation meaning no more than 2 in a six month period they will help you.! ~ now i pay on time and always have but i bet like a lot of people these folks complaining are most likely trying to take advantage of them and forgetting it's a business.! ~ i recommend not messing up your own credit in the first place so you don't have to go to a high interest financing company, but if your down on your luck with credit and your honest and not taking advantage of them you will see there great to work with.!!!! ~ no problems here i am 31 yr old blk male.! ~
- Pros: good service/ really understanding/ helpful/ courteous/
- Cons: high finance rates
They screwed up my bank account
by corirocks
I just ran into a problem with Northcoast finacial. I have to call in a payment every week to get a code. This past week they took out $101 over what the payment is. This totally messed my bank account up. I called them and they were suppose to put the money back into my account within 36 hrs. Well they didn't now I have over $96 in overdraft fees.
- Pros: I got a car when I needed it
- Cons: They screwed up my credit worse

This company claims its out to help ppl. rebuild there credit. Their main goal is to make money. I dont fault them for that. However, I feel a little honesty is much better then scamming. Unfortunately, I purchased a car from them. It was in the evening and snowing. They cleaned the car off as much as they possible could. Which i asked them is there anything by were the ice is on the car and you really cant tell. The guy reasured me there wasnt. Well, we went in and signed the contract. The next day, I went in to pick up the car. They took it through a car was, the right back panel had a huge dent into it. I looked at the sales person and said "What the hell is this?" He said, "oh, I dont know, its nothing though, we can get it out. Ok, so we took the car home. The next morning I wont up and was checking the car out more clear cause it was daylight. The front grill had a break in it, and was ducked taped together and painted black like the color of the car so ppl wouldnt notice it. Of coarse the dealership denied knowing anything about it. So, I took it up with Flitcher. He's the fool who owns the company. And the dealership, Yes, He is the owner of both. Amazing isnt it? Well, he blew it off. Said vanity isnt everything in a car. Well a week later the transmission starting messing up. So, I took it in. They looked at it. Said nothing wrong with it. I took it for a long drive and again broke down with it. Had to pay for a towing charge. Brought them the car, and again after the car cooled off, Everything was ok. The guy said I was nuts. So, once again I called Flitcher, He said bring it in, I will personally see what we can do. After the 3rd time. They finially realized there was a problem with the trans. They put in a new one. After 6 months of fighting with them. A week later, got a oil change, Told oh sorry cant do it they welded on the screw for the oil tank. etc. I spend $2400 on repairs. That car almost made me go bankrupt.
- Pros: None
- Cons: The whole setup to make ppl pay 3x what the car is worth
DO NOT FINANCE WITH THIS COMPANY
by irene7
I have had my car for about a year and a half now and have had nothing but problems with it. I was forced to pay for a warranty that was supposed to cover everything, but in reality only covers specific problems. My linkage cable to my transmission broke, and it wasn't covered, so I had to pay 300 dollars to fix it. Of course I still had to make my payments so that the infamous box wouldnt shut the car off. I have had A LOT of electrical problems, which may or may not be associated with the box (which they have had to replace because it was hooked up wrong and drained my battery). My credit is bad and I was desparate for a car, so I signed a contract. I was under the impression that lenders would not give you a loan that was way over bluebook, but I was wrong. Two months after purchasing my car for $7000, I found out blue book was less than $2000. I know I should have looked into it, but like I said, I was deparate. By the way, I did NOT have a trade-in, I was just overcharged. I once called to see if I could skip one of my WEEKLY payments( after being on time for a year) and was told I could skip the payment, but my car wouldn't run until my payment was caught up.
Avoid at ALL cost

Our van was falling apart so I went to a local dealership. They got us financed through this "company". We had to have the box removed because of all the electrical problems. We have had this car less than a year and I am ready to drive it to them and tell them where to shove it. They call everyday. We have put over $2000 in it in repairs along with my insirance company paying $4000. (We were in the flood) Do they care? No! Whatever you do next time ask who is financaing. This company doesnt even put our payments on our credit report. We are trying to rebuild our credit. I will never have anything to do with these people again.I am changing our number and giving them back their car.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Too easy to financace
