Toledo BBQ
by kolaman80 at Citysearch
While in Toledo, and being from KC, I had a taste for some BBQ; so I thought I would give this place a try. I did ask and Smokey Bones is a restraint chain. However all things considered the BBQ was not bad at all. Their ribs were St. Louis style and not too bad, the pulled pork was moist and had a light smokey flavor. The sausage was smoked, but it really tasted like polish sausage, good, but nothing special as far as the BBQ sausage category. I also tried the baked bean, they were ok, but were missing the special touch that the individualized BBQ places seem to add. The sauce was sweet, but did have a very strong vinegar overtone. All in all not too bad, not the best, but my no means the worst BBQ I have ever had, not a bad place for a quick BBQ fix while on the road.
- Pros: Nice area, close to hotels and interstate, not bad for a chain

how we were seated , the uncareing attitude we were treated by the waitress .we ask for a place to sit that I could see the TV that had the base ball game on, since the TV's are messed up and they could not change the channels , the promble was she didn't want to put the waitress out by stepping 2 steps to serve us, we were to sit where she wanted us . I would not have been up set was the place full, but there was lots of tables open, so if you are ever in the JOHNSON CITY area an visit Smoky Bones ask that the manager seats you , you might get a TV that work,,GOOD LUCK......Earl ODOM
