Markwood, Richard B, Do - Rivercrest Ob-Gyn

Love the doctors, but the office staff...eck!. I LOVE Dr. Markwood and Dr. Sutherland. Dr. Markwood has delivered both of my children. Dr. Markwood tends to be a bit old-school in that he is hesitant to try something like a VBAC, but Dr. Sutherland is supportive of that decision. I planned a VBAC with my second son; my first son was a C-section due to fetal distress. Due to some complications, however, my second son was an emergency C-section at 31 weeks. I never felt pushed by Dr. Markwood. I do think he tends to be "all business" during delivery, but that is understandable. What seals the deal for me is that when my second son was born early and VERY sick, Dr. Markwood and Dr. Sutherland came to a hospital outside of their approved ones just to visit us and check on things. Dr. Markwood called several times during my son's NICU stay to check on his status. He is a WONDERFUL doctor.

Having said that, while I LOVE the doctors, the office staff is awful! They have lost appointments, put my phone messages under the wrong patient's name (resulting in my messages not being returned), and they are generally not helpful when I ask questions. I can't get perscriptions called in either due to messages being lost or not relayed to the right person. Honestly, if it weren't for the amazing doctors that I have, I would leave the practice because of the terrible service from the office staff.…

Horrible attitude with an even worse staff. His staff is rude, has lost our appointments, promised calls back for three days straight with no call backs. Dr Markwood (really a DO, not MD) is arrogant and thinks he is gods gift to everyone. He forces you to have a C-section with out any discussion, and then tells the surgery staff it was elective. This is day three of needing my perscription refilled by him, with 8 calls having been made. He tells us to call the office, they tell us they need him.... either way they are all idiots. He is horribly insensitive to his patients and thinks telling them he is proud of them once makes up for his HORRIBLE HORRIBLE staff.…

Been their patient for 13yrs. I have been a patient since I was 17rs old...I have never had an issue with them. Dr. Markwood is the best. He always remembers me and we have conversations that continue from a previous appointment. He has delivered both my children and last Wednesday did my tubial. If he ever retires my next dr. will have a lot of work to do to even try to compare to Dr. Markwood. As far as Alyshia goes...she is no longer there. She was a little different. :) Based on my experiences I would recommend them to everyone.…
