save it. After hearing so much positive feedback about this place I wish I had just gone to FoodTown and bought a frozen Banquet beef & gravy dinner. I think that may have been what I was eating anyway. I'm giving a 1 star rating because there was milk and it wasn't sour. (like my mood after lunch) I miss Lincks Cafeteria :(

Red Wells. Went to Red wells for the first time this past week at the urging of my Uncle Bob. He tends to have a few too many beers at times. I think he had a few too many when he reccomended this place. It was just Ok, nothing overly spectacular. The mashed potatoes need work, very institutionalized.

Gravy and beef, very good. Ran out of milk to drink as it seemed like the people in front of us drank about 10 ! Bummer.

Red Wells Famous Roast Beef. I am watching the Food Network tonight on TV and this name popped up in my mind. We used to live in Toledo at 14th and Jefferson back in the 40s. We often went to Red Wells Famous Roast Beef when they were located more closely than the Sylvania address. I don't recall the street it was on. However, it was the highlight of our week when we ordered roast beef on rye, the hoseradish lifted the sinuses to new levels, and the delicious gravy and mashed potatoes made just right. I wish I was able to travel to Toledo again just to go here once more. It was affordable at that time as we were aspiring artists starting out to impress the world!!!

It's Called "Famous" For A Reason.... If you're looking for a fantastic hot roast beef (or carved turkey) sandwich, this is THE place to go. One-family-owned for decades. It's eat-in cafeteria-style or you can get it to go. Piled high & thinly sliced with plenty of gravy. Horseradish sauce on request. Sandwiches available on your choice of several kinds of bread & can be ordered as whole, half, or doubled. Both the turkey & roast beef juicy & so tender a knife in not necessary. The roast beef hash is wonderful & other available sides are creamy mashed potatoes, corn, cottage cheese, green beans, cole slaw, stewed tomatoes, deviled eggs. Desserts include a variety of pies as well as jello, custard or pudding. You won't be disappointed!
