I Love El Tipico.
I want to comment on the review below. I do love this place, I too remember leaving McCarthy Stadium in Highland park after a softball game and taking my gal Sue in there for some of the best Mexican chow I have ever had.
I want to know if the place and the surrounding area is safe? I have driven by many times ( very quickly) but I'm concerned about all of the unsavory elements hanging around the neighborhood. Some one let me know what going on in that part of town?

El Tipico numero uno. I grew up on the South side and would find myself wandering into El Tipico becuase the smell of fresh flautas were overwelming. This food is the real deal. Not only is it fresh and authentic but Jan will give you her recipes by only signing up for thier newsletter!! Wake up and smell the Flautas Toledo! This place is the real enchilada!
