Best Italian in Toledo. Ciao is one of the best restaurants in Toledo, and the best in Sylvania. I think I'd give them the edge food-wise over local competitors such as Mancy's Italian and Bravo. My favorite dish is the Bolognese, which is heavy, but delicious. On healthier occasions I usually order the Parmesan encrusted whitefish. The dining room is quite intimate and is a perfect place to take a date, though we usually eat in the bar area, which is much more casual. There is also a lovely outdoor patio in the summer (even though it does face Monroe St.). Happy hour specials are better than you would expect, and they also offer a free meal and dessert on your birthday.

Tasted good, but. I actually thought the food I ordered was quite tasty and the service was fine. Within a half hour of returning home, however, I got an attack of food pois0ning (which apparently we aren't allowed to say in the reviews although I don't know what else one could call it). I know it was the food at Ciao because of the timing and because I felt great up until I ate dinner. I had ordered the salmone con spinachi. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. It was literally like flushing $30.00 down the toilet. I won't be going back.

Best of Toledo. Great food! Check out their Happy hour at the Bar if you can stand the smoking. It is a great deal!
